If you are going f/i:
Do not use the stock sleeves or internals if you plan on boosting more then 10 psi. It just not "recommended".
If you are going n/a:
Stock sleeves are fine. I have seen plenty of crv/vtec builds on Stock sleeves with 12:1 c/r using weisco pistons & eagle rods etc.
Making more then 220 is going to the wheels n/a is going to be a challenge. It is possible but I doubt you will make 250 to the wheels n/a without a serious setup that isnt very streetable.
Here is a good example of a crv/vtec that made almost 220:
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=410980
That is Kenji's b20 that he has in his eg.
If you want to make more then 250 n/a check out hondata's k20a eg race car: http://hondata.com/racecar/
It is just nuts how much power they are making in such a light car
If you do decide to go with sleeves. Contact Golgen Eagle about a pre-sleeved block assembly. They have great prices & awsome services.
Concerning using a block guard, I recommend you do some research. They supposedly distory the block if they are not professionally machine specifically for YOUR block/sleeves etc.
That may be a myth but it makes sence to me.

ok here is my advice get a LS block for 100-150 and get it sleeved for around 700-1000. Because you figure a b20b/z is around 500 and the block gaurd is probably a hun so for 500 more you are sure that your motor won't blow up. if its the displacement you want it doesn't matter it you sleeve at 81mm or 84.5 mm it cost the same.
Ive been asking around about b20/vtec setups and the answers are always 50/50. good and bad, me myself, im going for it. Ive seen too many b20/vtec's kick so much ass I can care less whether the sleeves crack every week. My friend has a b20 with a b16 head, has alot of shit done, almost stock bottom end too. Its in a crx, it runs mid to high 12's. Enough said. Check out www.c-speedracing.com that integra has a b20/vtec setup but the internals are "confidential".
My opinion is if your going all motor, b20/vtec and if your going FI, 1.8 sleeved.

On a side note, the tq you pickup from a B20 over an LS is not all that much. It would be a better idea (reliability wise) to simply go with an LS turbo, Or LS+N2o

sometimes people still type with their head up their ass and they don't stop.
na200whp is making over 200whp reliably with a b20vtec setup.
250whp is a pretty lofty goal. Get a cheap ls block and get it sleeved. Then you can do turbo, nitrous, or NA....whatever you want with it and not have to worry about the sleeves much.
