LS tranny will slow any car down, turbo or not. Longer gears do not ever EVER fucking make a faster accelerating car. Just wanted to point that out.
On topic: An LS tranny will work fine, and on the good side, you'll get better gas mileage.

You wont be slow. I have had LS trannys and i have had it on the motor and in turbo forum. Yes a GSR is prefered but an LS will suite you fine. I was in the same position and had to get an LS tranny. I was not dissapointed. The 3rd gear is the best.
there isn't all that much different in the trannies...i have driven both and man its not like it knocked me down or something...i would much rather get better gas mileage these days ($1.98 gallon :o )= for 93 octane)
