Default need to rebuild tranny...where to get parts?

i have a 99 gsr with about 73k miles on it and the main bearing is making noise so i have to replace it before some real damage happens......the shop i am planning on taking it to is going to install my new exedy clutch and replace the main bearings and the synchros for 800 and somthing. but the thing is he is charging me 370 for the internals and about 370 for laybor. i wanted to know if there was anywhere i could get the parts cheaper and just hand them to him....i bought the clutch kit for 169.99 and he will put in in for free so i am hoping to get the parts cheaper and knock down the price a little.........can some one help me out......or hell i would buy a GOOD condition used tranny and put it in my self.

Do NOT buy the parts until your mechanic has diagnosed exactly what parts/bearings are shot.

There are tons of parts inside your tranny, you cant just start buying parts without taking apart your tranny.

I hear Colin at Racing Intergration is the shizzle for doing Import Tranny rebuilds...I think he charges around $300+/- for syncros to give you an idea.
