Default Help - mechanical '04 s2000 questions - serious inquiries please

I have an '04 s2000 that needs some go fast parts. There definitly are not a shortage of mods that can be done but most parts are for prior models like '00-'03. I have a friend who owns a '01 s2 and his engine plate reads "f20c1" but mine says "f22c1" on the '04 model. I am aware of the differences such as a lower rev limit and larger liter size, ect. My question is can the parts made for the earlier year s2's work on my f22c1? I am interested in modifying piston rods, piston heads, exaust, ecu, throttle body, headers, ect. I know the cold air intake will mount up but I am reluctant to buy parts unless I know they will work on my car. I have considered buying a spoon throttle body 70.01mm but again I don't know my size throttle body or if spoon's will work on my '04 car. I need to find a website that I can refrence parts for my car. Or if anyone has any helpful answers I appreciate your replies. Any other '04 s2000 owners? Let me know what you have done to yours! Thanks!

the newer F22 is comepletly redesigned from the F20 internal completly different and the timing chain setup is different. Like john said everything else should work just fine (externally) just be carefulk with over revving S2000's have a thing with busting valves if you miss shifts ! weve rebuilt like 8 heads cause people think its a hot rod and miss shifts ! dont go to the factory rev limiter stay a lil below it !

My hp intentions come to about 280 hp to the wheels all N/a. After those mods i would like to add a supercharger and run 6-8 psi for a little extra kick! Thanks for the advice about internals and high rev shifts. I will take all of this into consideration. Any more advice please don't be shy!

i would like to add piston rods, piston heads, intake manifold, full exaust but i still want the dual pipes, header, throttle body, ecu, injectors, light weight flywheel, vafc or on board plug and play engine management system(cpu), strut bars, shocks and springs, aluminum radiator (spoon), and thermostat (spoon). if i can find theese parts for the '04 then i want to add the supercharger last have everything tuned and dynoed. i would like to have 11 sec 1/4 mile time slips when i am all done. any suggestions?

Shit if your gonna go that far do a turbo and dont waste the time on a SC. youll see ALOT more power from a Turbo system and those modifications. you shoudl see 11's easy low 11's maybe a high 10 with some serious boost and enough supporting mods ! its a good power plant !!! Im a Turbo Man over SuperChargers all day long. SC's are limited to the power output and physical rotation of your engine it uses power to make power and in my book thats a waste, Turbos use wasted energy to make extra power !! and that my friend is GOLDEN !!! Why waste what god gave ya !!

Hmm, are you saying the cylinder head was redesigned too. Like so much so the cams won't interchange? Never worked on a s2000, just curious.
