Default OBD2 Question

Will a OBD2 USDM GSR run properly without a catalytic converter? I'm swaping a it in my '97 hatch and I don't have a cat.

You need to buy/build a test pipe. A test pipe is a pice of exhaust that has an O2 bun welded in to it so you can run your O2 sensor. You need to run your O2 or you will have a check engine light. Tucan industrys makes a nice test pipe that is a direct bolt in to replace the cat. It sells for about $65 and is stainless.

already have the test pipe taken care of. I'm just worried about the second O2 sensor(after the cat) throwing the ECU in limp mode.

You can trick the 02 sensor by hanging it in the engine bay if you dont have anywhere to thread it into.

IMO, I would get a 02 bung welded into the exhaust test pipe/system or just get an obd1 computer

will it run right with an OBD2 ECU without a cat? if I put the after cat sensor in the exhaust it will throw a code and it might not run right. thats why i'm trying to find out if i need to put a cat on it cuz i already have it. i just dont want to if i dont have to.

You dont need a cat for it to run correctly.

Switch to obd1 or get a highflow cat or get an 02 simulator
