Well took the intake manifold off today, and there is tons of carbon buildup in the throttle body, and air box on top of it.

My friend got the tention bolt off yesturday, and did the timing right (I think) again, But since the new fuel filter, It starts up at about 300rpm, and goes up to about 1500 and then drops back down to like 800rpm, and does this a few times before it just stalls, and this is full throttle mind you.

Could the timing be off 180 degrees?

I'm still really confused, Getting plently of use out of our new air tools though.

might want to check the tps throttle position sensor.

Ok new update, Messed with timing some more (rotating 180 degress) and that didn't help at all, So we checked the spark on the spark plugs, and they were sparking all funky like not on the filiment. So we put one of my friends spark plug into the wire and checked that and it was sparking right, so we put all his plugs into the car, and it ran just as crappy as before. Now that we put the old plugs in it doesn't start or anything, It just cranks for ever.

Tried putting starting spray into the intake, and it didn't help, Flipped the timing 180 degrees again, and it still doesn't crank.

Now I'm only getting a code 10 (Air intake temp) from the ECU.

Already replaced the fuel filter.

As for how the car ran before, I wouldn't know exactly, He said (Somewhat reputable source) that it ran fine, But he took the block and head from this car, and put it in his Si, and left his Si, block in this car.

okay i just want to get this straight on your set up

d16a6 block
d16 head
dual point injection
dx ecu
replaced fuel filter due to no fuel pressure
spark plugs had no burn on the filliment
put in friends plugs and the burn was fine but car ran crappy
put in old plugs back and car won't crank over
code 10 air intake temp
timing now rotated 360 degrees (timing should be between 16-18 degrees)
high carbon build up in throttle body and box

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Is the car still not turning over? Because if you are lacking spark and priming in the fuel pump then replace the main relay. (also, I've never been able to hear my main relay turn on- it is a plug so Im not sure how you'd hear it(?)) Also, take out your ecu and open it up. Just do a check that you did not fry it. Also, unplug your ecu and try a different ecu. This may help. A lot of things trail back to the ecu with problems.
I didnt read anything about your ignition system being upgraded...but if the ignition system and ecu are not compatible then the car wont run either. If the wiring is messed up from the ignition system to the ecu that would affect your rpms. Check that wiring has been done properly and again- check the combatibility of your ecu to ignition system. I saw that you said you replaced the fuel filter. But did you replace the fuel pump as well?
And finally- check that the injectors are not stuck fully closed. A stuck closed injector will not click or send out any fuel. Check that your pulse width is not all the way down to 0.
When your car WAS running all shitty...it may have been one of your sensors that made it run bad...check or replace them (crank ref signal, map, tach signal, maf ect)

My car had the same issue...so i had to do the whole trial and error thing. After replacing a few items and checking EVERYTHING- finally I found out it was the wiring to my ecu. Good luck- i hope this helps get your car running again

code 10 air intake temp Righto
timing now rotated 360 degrees (timing should be between 16-18 degrees)At this point I don't know lol, My friend instists that you do not rotate the cam timing AT ALL, I'm assuming that if we rotate the cam timing 180 degrees (Complete oposite of the timing mark on the cam gear that the valves still won't hit the pistons, and that mabye the vavles are trying to let exhaust out, when they should be letting gas and air in.) Up until this point, we have only rotated the crankshaft.
high carbon build up in throttle body and boxSoilid black all over it.
