Sohc Vtec Turbo?
$2500 is the cost to build just the motor?
D16Y8 block $100
D16Y8 crank $75
Hot tank, bore/hone, and polish crank $165
SRP Pistons and Eagle Rods with ARP bolts $725
ACL Bearings $103
ARP Head Studs $83
Golden Eagle Block Guard $90
New OEM Gaskets $174
New NAPA Timing Belt $44
New NAPA Water Pump $45
Total $1604
and it will hold more boost than a stock B Series can reliably.

now that i disagree with. I have seen some fast ass sohc cars. Now i understand B series are much more capable but, i do not really wanna do a swap all these parts can be taken off of my car and i can sell a stock ek. I do not have the room to store a b18 right now if i did it would be going in my car. But you saying sohc are a waste of time is like someone with a v8 saying that 4 cylinders are a waste of time.

You can't back up any of your statements. You just make uneducated, unsupported, worthless comments. I agree with the fact that B Series in the LONG run have more potential. I have seen dynos of 750whp B18C's. For the average racer, street car especially, the D series is capable of being built cheaply for FAR MORE power than needed.

Any all motor n/a motor is going to be more reliable than any boosted motor unless the car is boosted stock such as....sti, evo, gs-t.......ETC bottom line I wouldnt mind doing a sohc turbo your going to wax coupes with swaps if they are stock but with a few bolt ons and a good drive compared to a boosted coupe with 7-10psi its going to b pretty even race
