Default many sohc questions

well first, where is the best place to get my head ported for the buck?

what is the ave. price for a stripe/street port job?

Why would a sohc burn up 2 or 3 MAP sensors in less than 2 weeks?

If i'm running 11.5 to 12 compression, should i be able to run the car on pump gas and still get a good burn on the plugs or should i be using octane booster?

if i should be using booster which is the best i should be use?

thanks guys for the tips and help before hand

Not sure on the P&P work out in Tampa. There is no reason
to be frying out MAP sensors unless you've got a short
of some kind going on. Any water damage to your car?
What kind of motor are you running? SOHC VTEC? D16A?

That is a high comp ratio (I hope you are running N/A and
not planning on booting anytime soon!) I'm running 11:1
on my sohc VTEC running on 93 oct with no problems.
Just check the timing on your motor, use good gas, dyno and
do a wide band and see where yu are running (rich/lean)
and you should have no problems.
Good luck!

hi Ken ~ 1qwkcrx

i have a sohc vtec 12.6.1 compression ratio running on 93 octane due to advancing my timing.

do you have a fuel pressure reg and an adjustable timing gear?

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
