Horrible Smoke
Hey i just put a new 1.5 in my car, and its smoking horribly bad. I did a compression test, its ok. i changed cylinder heads to one with brand new valve seals and its still smoking really bad. The smoke is a white-blue smoke, im guessing burning oil. but i dont know where its coming from. I noticed a horrible build up of carbon on the pistons before i put the head on but i dont think it would cause this bad of smoke. Oh and it smokes on acceleration and just cruising also. All help appreciated. -Ben

Do another compression test. This time, do it dry once, like you normally do. After you do that, put a cap or so full of oil in the cyl, and retest. If it goes up more then a few PSI, you need new rings. Which is what I think is the problem here.
Also, define "Compression test was good". What is good to you?
Your oil rings could be shot, and it would still compression test ok.
