250 WHP with an LSD, and slicks launching at 6000 rpm, do you think I'll snap an axle? Just curious, was thinking of do TRack day tomorrow but don't wanna snap an axle.

I doubt it, but i would say it's a possibility.

 

I snapped axles and a tranny with 220whp in my Z24 so i say its possible.

 

depends on how many miles are all ready on the axles, the more miles the easier it is to brake them!

 

dpends on axles, and actual traction, youve seen my slicks and i plan on launching at 4500 and slipping the clucth,,,,,,,alot

 

I plan on slipping the clutch too. BTW the TQ is 170. The car has 48000 miles on it. I dont know if the axles are original or not. Thanks for the insight, just was wondering.

Also, What clutch would you suggest to get max grip but still be streetable?

Did the Z24 have an LSD? I know the transfer of power will help in not breaking the axles. BTW its a Quaife LSD.

It's hard to answer your question. I have broken diffs on 150whp and not brake an axle. What breaks axles is "deadhooking". You want to launch at high rpms like 6,000 as you plan. This way you get tire spin and dont hook hard. I would start with about 9-10lbs in them that way they will also spin at first. Good luck. Try not to break the diff.

1) take off your axles
2) goto autozone and buy refurb'd axles using yours as cores.
3) goto the track and snap your axles
4) take them back and get another set for free (life warrenty)
5) repeat
