Default how much boost???? 2000 civic SI

Hey guys, im a local female racer and im new to forced induction. I have a 2000 civic si turbo, with the following mods, how many pounds will the stock internals handle??? i have it on the stock wastegate settings of 7.8 psi now without it being tuned. It drives nice now but i expected more for $6000 dollars i spent, when i went to Gainesville Speedway it ran a......
R/T........582
60'.........3.107
330........7.347
1/8........10.509
mph.......77.96
1000.......13.193
1/4.........15.412
MPH........101.83

I know my 60ft are SORRY! i have a big trouble with traction,so please don't critisize me on it, but it was untuned and my last run before i found out my motor mounts were all damaged! N/A i ran a 15.5@86????? on the street it pulls so much harder now than N/A. i want to turn up the boost or something but i dont know, maybe you guys can help me out with some helpful advice. with my list of mods what can kinda boost and 1/4 mile times should i expect?

ok so when i take it to get tuned in orlando, how many PSI should i tune it too? leave it at the stock 7.8 psi from the wastegate? or can with all the other supprt mods that i have can i tune it to lets say around 10psi??? and what numbers should i be expecting from my set up???

hey jessica you can boost around 10 psi safely ,but you might want to look into bigger injecters etc i have a 92 hatch with a h22 and a t72 turbo and i boost way more than 7.8,but that is because you have a smaller turbo at all depends on how and who tunes the car, the best thing i can say is do a little reseach there guys on here that know there shit just ask vito os crix these are thier screen names

Jessica,

To answer your primary question, a b16 can handle 7-11 psi of boost w/ no problems if tuned properly with factory internals.
More boost is NOT your answer!

If you are looking to have better ets:

Fix your traction/motor mount issues 1st.
I highly recommend atleast a hasport top drivers side motormount for an ek w/ a bseries motor in it (si).
I also recommend falken azenis tires for drag radials because of the price & availibility...

a. Have your car tuned
b. Make sure your drivetrain tires/axles/tranny/clutch combo can handle the power you are putting down.
c. Practice launching on an empty road...

Make sure you know where to launch at without:
1. loosing traction to where you can't regain it without letting off the gas
2. launching so low you do not leave the line with any power hence your car falls on its face
After a few launches you will find an rpm range you can launch at.

What did your car dyno (max power), or have you even had it tuned yet ?
With 200-250 whp in a civic si you should be in the 13's.

If you need more horse power, look into getting your self some cams

If your still lost after reading this, you might want to consult a local professional like John at secret services.

with a 101 mph trap speed u definetly have the power to be in the 13s no problem. work on the launch and you'll be fine. a great car is only as good as its driver!

With that turbo you can safely boost probably 10psi...although there is no way to really tell unless you have it tuned to a safe amount. mtber knows what he is talking about and i would do with his advice. Some sort of standalone system would be nice or atleas an AFC to make tuning a bit easier! Good luck

dont feel bad, when my 300ZX was having issues with the crank angle sensor (basically it had to be street started or else he magnets would shake and read RPM ERROR to the Standalone and shut the car off) I ran a 15.4@124.4 LOL I know all about stupid technical things fuxoring your 60 foots... Then again i was street starting the car... no boost in 1st.. 5 psi in 2nd... and finally 15psi in 3rd thru the traps where I made al the MPH
