one of the car mags did an article on this a while back with different cars from hondas, cavaliers and nissians. they dynoed each car with:
1. stock
2. 2.25
3. 2.5
on each vehicle the 2.5 always equaled more horsepower, just thought this might be helpful.

There was an exhaust dyno shootout done a couple months ago with a B16a. I think there were ten different exhausts and the Apexi N1 came out ontop with peak numbers. I will try and find it.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

the original post was:

"which brands are total crap and should not be near a honda?

thanx."

So I replied with my best opinion for n/a. He did not list dohc or sohc honda... For all I know it coulda been a civic si w/ a dohc b16 in it.

2.5 is great for dohc applications.
You will need a header with a 2.5 inch collector along with a exhaust donut from an s2k or itr

if you are stil on a sohc application but you plan on swaping you're motor to a dohc, just keep you're factory exhaust until you do your swap.

My opinion....

Apexi n1 = loud
greddy evo 2.25 = quiet
mugen twin loop = quiet & good

I could go on...

Find an exhaust you like by appearance & quality, then ask how loud it is and how it performs
