Default Turbo the b16b ctr, turbo the ls , ot ls vtec

im kinda stuck here im really stupid nad i dunno wat to do. i have a b16b, JDM CTR motor, and i want to boost something and i know i can get a lot for this motor considering i have well over 1000 dollars in work to it. i was wondering for the maximum i could get outa a honda engine.should i A. boost wat i have w/ low compression pistons B. build an ls vtec then turbo that C. boost an LS, od D. buil n boost a gsr. all of these i am looking to probably get some low compression pistons and such n build it for boost so i was wondering which sould be the best for boost. AND RELIABBILITY IS A HIGE FACTOR. i was leaning toward the GSR but there are so many peope hating on everything i think im oging to leave it to u guys to gelp me out here and with any additional information u have on boosting these. i can get around 5-6k for this motor so keep that in mind too, thankyou

HAHAHA, you think you can get 5-6,000 for a B16B, lmfao. Ok, i will assume that you are seriously asking this question despite the fucking odd picture you decided to attatch that really has nothing at all to do with what you said. Go with a built GSR boosted. Ok really though, WTF is up with the picture???

the pic, please explain???

and oh yeah the GSR is a bad ass motor for boost.... but i think LS may be a little cheaper of an option..... if you have the money, go GSR-T

i do recommend you go with atleast 1.8 liters of displacement, but the only thing i dont like about the gsr is that it is casted with an "open web" block design, which when refering to strength of a block is weaker. i suggest and onld B18A because it already has a brether on the back and they are a dime a dozen, build it boost it, spray it.

and im sorry but a CTR motor is only like 2600.00 add a 1,000 to that and thats probably NOT what you will get for that motor

So your claiming that a GSR block is weaker than an LS block?

If it's your first time boosting stick with the stock bottom end, Hondata and larger injectors.

yes i am saying that a gsr block is intergally weaker than an LS block, mugen said so himself, along with the super high sleeve vibration problem occuring in the B20 motor, which has even been known, for dropping sleeves. i lived in okinawa for a while, and the B20 bandwagon started there a while ago

Dude, Mugen is on crack if he thinks the LS block is stronger than the GSR Block...

Look at the casting on the outside of the blocks...You see how the GSR has Vertical and Horizontal Casting Pattern in it...That design adds lots of strength to walls like a Rebar of sorts...

The GSR also includes a Main Cap Girdle that adds rigidity to the main bearing portion of the block...

There are many reasons why the DOHC 1.8 Vtec Blocks are superior to the DOHC 1.8 NonVtec Blocks...

Maybe you just misunderstood what Mr. Mugen said...

GSR block is a way better design than an ls. If it wasn't then why would Honda base the CTR and ITR motors off of a b18c casting.

Oh and the lsvtec and b20vtec were born in the States. Steve Rothenbueler (SP.) built the first one back in 96 or 97. They (Japan) actually followed us.
