98 ls motor w/ 30k... turbo or vtec?

Vtec on a ls swap is stupid.
Why? You have an ls tranny which is not ideal for lsvtec.
Hence you still need a b16 head & tranny, so all you use is you're block, rods & crank on an lsvtec.

nitrous or turbo on a ls motor is the best way to go IMO

Since reliability is questionable with both, i would say turbo.

Turbo, leave the vtec to the engines built for it...

Emphasize the motors strengths and avoid it's weaknesses...

Well that could go either way, you could say leave the turbos for the engines that were built for it as well. . .

Yeah but turbos have blow-off valves. And blow-off valves make cool noises!

LS VTEC WILL WORK FINE W/NA
& TURBO WILL WORK AS WELL WITH LOW BOOST
8PSI MAX.................PM ME........ ASAP
