Since we are out of the rainy season a CAI should be fine. I have one on my GSR and had no trouble even with all the rain this year. When it starts raining again I'm going to convert it to a short ram.
There is a risk, but if you use common sense (stay on paved roads, and put the filter above the splash shield) you should be OK.

short ram vs cai = 2 whp max
just get a nice shortram system like the comptech ice box etc...
