grinds when the car is in gear like a constant metal to metal sound....i personally think the tranny is gone or its bone dry on gear oil or tranny fluid
what do you think?
what do you think?
could be tranny fluid, have you checked it? if you don't know a whole lot about this, take it to a tranny place and see if they can identify the problem. but, it sounds more like a lubrication problem, check the fluid and top it off if needed.
a. tranny fluid
b. blown clutch disc, (Spring blew outa the clutch disk & is rubbing on the flywheel)
c. something is bad in you're tranny :-/
Good Luck.

here's a pic of what your filler bolt should look like. it's on the passenger side of the car. jack up the car, unbolt this, and see if gear oil runs out. if, none comes out add, till it does. you may also want to just drain the tranny, just to see what comes out. as you can see, Honda reccomends replacing both drain and filler bolt washers and using their gear oil, as it contains addatives for smother shifts. the service manual i used was for 96-2000 civics, but i can't imagine your tranny being too different.
thanks, and do i put the tranny fluid right into those holes???
thanks

a pic of what i mean by fill it till it runs out. but like a said, you may want to just flush what you have and put some new gear oil in there. if you are not able to use Honda MTF, 90W gear oil should work. The drain bolt on the tranny should be magnetic, so don't be surprised if you see metal shavings on the end of the bolt. get both washers from Honda, slap them on and fill up your gear oil, drive it and see how it goes. and i appreciate you asking me for help; i've never worked on a tranny before, i wouldn't want to screw up your shit. hope this helps. good luck.
