Default Fuel Pump mounting

Ok....I am going to change to a fuel cell. The fuel cell will be mounted in my trunk. The fuel pump I will be utilizing will be an areomotive external fuel pump. Would it be safe to mount the pump in the trunk of my car, or should I fabricate a plate to mount the pump where the original gas tank was located? Comments?

Matt

Mounting it is up to you....location, fitment, etc.....but just remember to make sure that the pump is gravity fed.

I want to mount it where the stock fuel tank was, not only for gravity, but also for the bling factor. Have a nice shiny red fuel pump with braided line running in and out of it.

Just adds to more attention for theives and cops. But whatever is cool with you man. I tried to hide all my line and pump. Just make sure you put some dampeners on that thing. It is loud.

I did not think about that. Here in Hickville Ocala, USA, thieves are not that bad, but I know what you mean.
BTW, what kind of dampeners are you talking about. Like mounting pads or what?

Yeah, make rubber sleeves that go through the chassis that you will run your bolts through. This way you have no metal to metal contact.
