Default High Compression

Okay so we started out wanting to make my 89 CRX Si SOHC Engine Mini Me swap with a 10:1 compression ratio. We deck, we mill, we give it PM7 pistons, we port, we polish, we angle job, we clay test, and then we look in the book and try to calculate the compression ratio. Yea, somewhere around 12:5. *OOPS* So we redo the quench chamber to try to lower compression. I mean really try. Cuz detonation is just not my goal.

Our estimated compression ratio is now in the lower to mid 11's maybe/hopefully/it better be.

Our thoughts are an agressive cam (stage 2), an adjustable timing gear, a whole lot of fuel management, and probably chip the ecu.

anyone have any ideas????

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

with good tuning you should be fine on pump gas as long as your compression is mid or lower 11's, and some N20 couldnt hurt.

I am funky about N2O, don't really care for it. This engine will be daily driver, well hopefully. Plus detonation sucks.
