Aftermarket Cast Iron blocks?
Do you think the excess weight would be an issue? I have not searched for any specs, but aluminum and cast iron are definitely different in weight. The question is, would the benefits of the strength increase outweigh (no pun intended) the excess weight?

sounds good, yes you save money sleeving but what about the rest of the motor?Even to run 20psi you would need stronger internals and work to the head.If you want a iron block i have a 5.0 boat anchor for sale

I did say aftermarket. Of course you'd need forged internals, that would go without saying for most people.
Im not talking about saving money, a cast iron block would probably cost as much as if not more then sleeves. However, you would not worry about dropping the sleeves in your $10,000 motor.

I don't think anyone is going to be blowing the sleeves out of a Dart block so why use cast iron?

Is a Dart block really the way to go though? You could sleeve a block for less...What is that extra 500 to 700 dollars giving you? Peace of mind that it is a new block? I am not saying ya or nay, I am undecisive on which to go with.
