TECH: LS/VTEC Alternative...
Between the superior engine components and geometry, and properly built (and with an adequate valvetrain), I can see this engine spinning to 12K RPM all day without a hitch. There aren't cams out there that could use 12K, but I'll bet you could.
By now, everyone is pretty familiar with my favorite saying: If it was all that great, Honda would have done it in the first place.
Oh, yeah, NA small displacement "performance" is a complete waste of time. Sorry to be a hater, I've just seen a lot more power and a lot more reliablility for a lot less money from well applied boost.

Uh. . . I am happy with my Honda, i am also going to pick up another S13 when i get some money. Toyota is awesome if you have the money. If you want brute power then Gm would be my choice.

Nissan's alright, I don't click with Toys although I don't have anything against them, GM needs to die. They introduce the first decent F-body in 20 years and then go and discontinue them - that sums GM up pretty well.
I'm leaning towards Ford. SBF/fox chassis is cheap, robust, and should be good for 10's in daily driven form, most likely in a Granada/Fairmont station wagon because I'm a sick fuck like that. I have a yearning towards an early 80's Escort done in euro CVH turbo style. If I go with a newer car, probably a Fuckus... but I can't quite get past how ugly they are.
I do the Honda thing because I've owned and modified them since the mid 90's. I have multiple engines and transmissions laying around in assorted condition, all sorts of wierd parts, etc. They are just easy and cheap for me at this point.

My bad read too fast.. you have to be patient with me i'm still new to this.. I understand what youre saying now... but does this alone mean the LS non-vtech has no true potential?
Keep in mind i don't want a full out race car.. this is my everyday ride..
