Default CRX Tranny Question

i have a '89 CRX Si with a '95 Civic Si SOHC VTEC swap. I bought it like that so what tranny would you guess i have? how can i tell?

also, it used to grind third sometimes but now it does almost everytime, and even 4th is starting to grind....what are my choices for a tranny swap? what is the best one to get?

Any 88-91 Civic/CRX trannies...Avoid any 4 speeds and the ideal tranny will be out of an Si...

if the motor is still in the car...only way to really know what tranny you have is to

jack the car up

look at 11 oclock (pass side) where the axles goes into the tranny

at that mark should be a circular marking about the size of a nickle

inside that mark should be a code desinating what bearing is in the tranny 3000/PL3 is SI tranny bearing code....if it does not say that then you do not have an si tranny in the car

like sunrise said the easiest fast tranny would be 89-91 si

the IDEAL would be hybrid gearing ZC 1-5 with SI final drive :o
