You are right AEM costs more money. You get what you pay for.Going fast costs more money.I'm sure you can make about the same power on both.AEM has wide band O2 meaning no more need for dyno.Cost for tunning same as hondata or most of the time even less. You pay for dyno time.It takes twice as long to burn chips for hondata when your changes are instant on AEM.My car gets tuned at SFP(southern florida performance).Anyone that can tune hondata should not have much trouble tunning AEM.Also you can go to AEMPOWER.COM and download updates instantly. You wont find a better setup on the street. The AEM also now has traction control.

aem is great if you have the money for it, and if you can find someone to teach you how to program it and what those adjustments will do. Ok you don't have to know how the aem can be programmed but I like to know whats going on with my car.
also if your staying with a standard turbo setup running less than 20psi and your using the car for street driving and a weekend track start then aem is a bit overkill. but if your car is drag only, and you have gone so far as to rip every bit of the interior out, and your running 30+psi then you may want to look into aem.

If your running on the street DO NOT run an open downpipe, with a honda and alteezas your already asking the cops to profile you as a street racer and are just giving them another excuse to pull you over. ditch the cat, if you want to keep the dual exhaust then look into partially removing the internals of each muffler so that you can lower back pressure but still keep the system as quiet as possible.

The Ironic thing here is I am ditching my speedpro...which is as good if not better then the AEM unit. I have opted for a hondata unit. I know many people who are switching to a hondata unit. Why not....save 1k or so, and make serious power either way.

ok. I know I am going to get flamed for this but here it is....
If you are looking to build a turbo, custom is good and it maybe cheap but the hassle isn't worth it....

If you want to do it right and save yourself the hassle then get a greddy kit and get the right fuel management system. I currrently have the new Greddy Profec EO1 with emanage in my car. The hondata is nice but it is alittle rough for running on the street the emanage and the profec are more streetable. I am currently completing my car and I am going to get it tuned over at Secret Services.

As for racing zone yes they are alittle pricey but they are worth every little penny. You don't just have to buy from them you can get it from other places too. There are alot companies and deals out their but at least if you want to keep your motor and save yourself the trouble do it right the first time.

As for the altezzas they are nice as for the exhaust loose the dual exhaust and get a full catback system and loose the cat.

it IS worth the "hassel" to save $$$ and have a good kit... not one with a shitty wastegate or other things that you will want to replace after spending your $3000 on it...

greddy kits on hondas do not make power. PERIOD!!! the turbos are just too small... also i am not a big fan of the internal wastegate...

hondata... you should not give advice about things in which you know nothing... i have personaly run hondata on a civic hatch with a t3/t04e and made 285.8 WHP on a STOCK longblock and drove it to and from work and school... ran like stock (stock with GOOOBBBSSSS of HP and TQ)

and the altezzas are still gay... sell them!!!

the ONE thing out of that post that i would agree with is the advice about getting rid of the exhaust... it is ugly...
