it can be, but i'd get a list beforehand of the parts used and post them for opinion. Honestly, I'd be going for some decent pistons, new gaskets and seals, bored block, good head, possibly some aftermarket rods, etc...

2,000 is pretty cheap. It was going to cost me like $3500 or so. Thats with new parts, gaskets, seals, pistons, oil pump, itr waterpump etc.. I guess you could really cut back on alot of spending by reusing parts etc. But why? Save yourself a headace or two but building it right the first time so you dont have to redo anything 2ice.

this is what i spent on my ls/vtec from just having an ls swap

650$ jdm b16 swap for head and tranny 30k miles AWESOME ASS SHAPE sold block for 100$ so total is 550$ here

550$

250$ act clutch

800$ total

i spent 500$ on machine shop work but 300$ of it was from my head gettin all new parts. so your lookin at 200$ at least

1000$ total or more
gunnabe about 200$ for a decent shape LS block

1200$

then u have to rebuild it.
pistons/rings 300$
bearings 200$
head bolts/rod bolts 150$
oil pump/water pump 250$
head gasket and other gaskets about 100-150$
ls/vtec oil line and fitting 25$
axles and midshaft if u need them to 200+ at least

this is not even all the money i spent on after market parts either and i know i left some shit out and i got 20% off at hondaland and i get bomb deals on b16 motors so your lookin at spending at least 2500 or more.

I have LS long block with a B16 Vtec head. KJ Said it would cost $1300-1500 to completely rebuild it to race specs....B16 pistons, all new pumps, all new gaskets...everything new! Then get a B16 tranny, $600. looking at around $3000 or less. If interested in the LS and Vtec head please feel free to PM me.
