Default Slicks and LSD?

I'm getting my 13" Lenso rims with 22x8x13 M&H slicks at the end of September. Just wondering how likely my transmission is to survive a few runs until I can afford a Quaife in December.

I am but not near as much. I can get a new axel for $60 and they are way easier to replace than a tranny. So how do you guys think it will hold up?

If you stick with your stock axles, then it should hold up, but there is always a chance it could break.. If you upgrade your axles and don't do the LSD, then something has to break.

I would stick with the stock axles until you can afford the LSD - that is if you don't mind changing your axles. Try slipping the clutch a little on your launches.

How much whp you putting down and what transmission do you have?

Your axles will most likely break at the launch but not throughout the run...

By adding an LSD, you will distribute the torque to both axles instead of the one that slips...Its this distribution of torque that snaps your axles...I've learned that Honda Trannies are strong and can last a long time with proper shifting and maintainence...I wouldn't worry about the GearBox, Instead, I will keep a set of axles on hand and keep maintainence up as usual...Grinding the gears and Power Shifting, shifting without lifting off the gas pedal, will lead to premature tranny failure...

AWD Cars suffer from broken tranny parts because the wheel slip is near absent...This leads to only one thing and thats a shock to the Gearbox and thats where you have your problems...

Just remember to use as soft a clutch as you can get away with and the part of your clutch that really matters is the Pressure Plate...

Also 13" slicks are much more forgiving to the drivetrain when putting the power to the ground...

Thanks for the info guys.

I haven't dynoed yet. I go to get tuned by John on Sept 13th, but I am expecting around 220-230WHP and around 215-225WTQ. Stock D16Y8 tranny. In about 6-8 months I expect around 300-350WHP.

-Eagle Rods
-ACL bearings
-Golden Eagle block guard
-ARP Head Studs
AEM CAI, DC 4-1 headers, Tanabe exhaust, no catylic converter

Holley 255 LPH fuel pump
RC Engineering 550cc injectors
ZEX kit ( soon to be fitted with 125 shot jetting)
Some other bolt ons.
I'll eventually be boosting but not for another 6-8 months and at that time I'll be backing off to a 55-75 shot.

but why would that matter? I just said in the post above that I am expecting about 220-230WHP and about 215-225WTQ, that should obviously tell you that it is much faster than a mid 15 second car. Once I go with boost the plan is to aim for 300-350WHP.
