Default 94 lude speedometer gear question..

I was wondering if anyone would know what year civc has the cable driven speedometer that I would need to convert my 94 h22, that is in my 89 crxsi.obviously its the trannie side. In turn this is the only aspect that is left to engauge the vtec. Has anyone done this or know a direction I could take to accomplish this w/out adding a switch for vtec.
Thanks

A chipped ecu can eliminate the speedo as a requirement for vtec. I would imagine a jdm electronic speedo gauge cluster could be used with the stock prelude speedo. I don't know for sure but with a couple of wiring diagrams it shouldn't be too hard.

I've never heard of anyone using the cable driven type on a prelude. Have you ever looked at a 90 accord one. Maybe they are cable???

I'm very curious about this too.

Good look, thanks for the input/time. I guess you got a point about the 90 lude, i was also told that possible the 92-95 ex civic may have the gear Im trying to find, Let me ask you this: in reguards to the ecu nulling out the speed deal for vtec, is this just a mater of adding a resistor to the equation, I also was also curious about the rev limit on the p13 for my jdm h22a,I mean ya they have the ebay chip but in all reality this may be achievable handling this in another direction. Do you have any suggestions reguarding that? Thanks

I can talk to Kenji and see if he has a chip that will do that.

Have you considered the JDM crx sir cluster? It is setup for an electronic speed sensor. Could probably wire in the stock prelude one.

Thats a bad ass idea, I never thought about that, I wonder if the Canadian Vti is the same as the jdm?, I remember someone talking about that here a while ago. Do you know if the (Vti / Jdm) have the same setup? Thanks for the input

No I'm not sure. I just know the jdm crx sir uses an electronic speedo.
