the higher you go above 55, the more gas you use at an exponential rate. 55 is right abut where most cars get their best MPG on the high way. just dropping from cruising at 80 to cruising at 65 improved the MPG in my STi from 24 to 31 cruising.
So yeah, if everyone drove 55 we could cut our reliance on oil by about 15-20%.

I am totally on your side in this arguement, but you graph on page two is pretty linear not exponential. Not talking you down man just putting my two cents in. I agree with you on everything else though.
