It's just the extraneous members of our society slowly learning the difference between "need" and "want." There's a bit of a learning curve, and all those poor shmucks had to piss on the electric fence before they learned.

Still, high fuel costs don't constitute a real crisis until families start looking at the golden retriever and have to decide between having a loyal companion or a warm meal.

My truck stickered for $42k and they want to give me $15k trade in..same dealer I bought it from. ($4000 less than KBB trade in value)

At the same time, they won't come off sticker on the Ford Flex.

So I'm keeping my truck, and they're keeping theirs!

What ever I'm looking for a fox body right now and my dodge rams not going anywhere. But I do actually use my truck like a truck and do tow cars from time to time, looking for a car trailer soon.

yeah i just got rid of the STi and it wasnt even too bad on gas, 20 MPG. Save myself over $100 a month with the Civic... cannot imagine how bad it would be if I still had the mach1 (8-10 MPG)

KBB is old data. Always is. It cant come close to keeping up with actual market trends. Nearly all 8 cyl pickups, no matter how nice are doing well back of rough blackbook at the auctions. KBB still puts most of these trucks in the clean book range. Thats a problem. Dealers would be foolish to pay thousands more than actual replacement value for something that wont sell anyways.
