Do the bottom end. and a rearend swap. Bottom end so you can make the power safely and rearend so you can use the power safely.

 

power means nothing without traction and dependability. also who is gonna port the heads to get 45 HP with a stock cam????

i say save up, and most of us will.

 

Ive got a cc305 cam. The heads are holding me back. Lloyd or Skardom (dont know his real name) would be the head porters. Lloyd has a lot of praise, Skardom got another member, Dr. Mudge's lt1 to 413wrhp with short tube headers, and a cc305 cam.

I've re-enforced the rear with a TA girdle... I'll wait until it snaps. I think i have a sturdy unit. I rarely launch it hard.

I have traction and believe me, im pretty damn meticulous about my car and keeping it reliable.

 

Build your motor at a later date while you save, that way you can be the "Al" of LT1's around here.

My thought exactly. Shoot, even as a bolt-on car only his ride hauled, but alas, he has departed and I'm left without a really quick LT1 to look up to, so we'll see if Leon can step up....I know I can't with my shallow pockets.

 

what he said. stock lt1 should hold 100-125 shot no problem.

 

Marty's car was impressive as hell. He has a freak LT1.

As much as I'd like to have a reason to blow my engine for a bad ass rebuild its not within the buget. I'd hate to have to wait over a year saving money for a rebuild while my car is dead.

Course I could always have the heads and/or nitrous until im ready for the rebuild..... these heads are really holding my car back... 218/150 in/exh. Ported Heads and a good tune the car NA would haul serious ass. I have everything ready for either nitrous or heads. Heads are the weak point right now.
