swap possible?
ok i got a 97 malibu and im gettin tired of its weak little V-6 and was just thinkin one day and thought it might be possible to put an impala ss engine into it? if so i may try it, what you think?
You would really be better off getting something worth putting the effort into, however sure anything is possible, do you have the 3100 or 3800, if you have the 3800, you'd probably be happy just putting the supercharged 3800 in its place.

LS1 $250
full on track cars can take a lot more liberties with shit than a street car. bell bottom kits and crazy wheel fitment look cool sliding on a track, but when i want to drive to taco bus, im going to ruin all of that shit. so it just doesnt work for me. function over fashion.

I have a suggestion... while yes you would most certanly be different by doing anything with a malibu, why not just work with what you have? I mean I would love to see a 3800 in there and would more than likely be easier than say a SBC, but it will cost you an arm, a leg, 3 testicles, and other various body parts to get a motor swap that im sure has never been done. just food for thought. or i maybe pissing in your cherrios im not sure. either way your welcome

Malibus only had a 3.8 from 78-83 they were equiped from the factory with either a 2.4L or 3.1L from 97-03.

you want to put a V8 in a front wheel drive car that came with a v6? If you just want to throw money away I'll take it. That would be insanely expensive. A Fiero is rear wheel drive thats why an LS1 works in it. Rear wheel drive cars are far easier to swap engines in.
if you know what to get and what you are doing RWD conversions are not that bad. alot of welding and even more research. i did one on my 87 lesabre and loved it.
