Default T56 Questions....

I know there are many revisions of these things.

First off.... If you take off the bellhousing, is the bolt pattern of the acutal transmission the same on all the T56's, but the bellhousing is different?

Does anyone had a cad drawing of said bolt pattern ^

Does anyone have one locally I could take measurements of? Around USF.

Matt

No the front plate is not the same, I know there are at least two diff versions, LT1 and LS1 front plates are different, the input shaft is also different between the two, you can swap LS1 f body transmissions back and forth with LT1 stuff, vette / GTO stuff is different and doesnt so simply convert to LT1 style.

I am near TIA, and have an LT1 front plate you can come get if you want to leave me with some sort of collateral to make sure I get it back, and I have a trans if you want to take measurements.

What are you trying to do specifically ?

sounds like he might be trying to fab up a bellhousing for a 2JZ or something to that effect.

Yeah, thats what im figuring he's gonna say.
They make an adapter plate for the TH350/400/PG guys, It would probably be better to just use that and then an adapter for the crankshaft to space the flywheel back a little bit, or even a custom flywheel.

i think they make a TKO600 kit aswell...not sure if the double OD was what he was lookin for or the torque rating over the getrag the T56 has....but in all fairness, it sounds like a supra swap, so 6th gear pulls maybe be in its future i kid i kid...
