I have an 85 s10 and my 3rd 4th and 5th went out
I know a kid who has the same truck just its 2wd
Will his 2wd tranny work on my 4wd truck
they both have the same 2.8 motor and both are 5spd

 

You'll have to change the tail shafts between the two trans and it should work.

 

How hard is that?

 

um first make sure the tailshaft on the 2wd trans isnt longer than ur 4wd one. all the fullsize trucks have different tailshaft lengths between 2wd and 4wd. if its all the same then just take out the four bolts holding the tailshaft and switch them.

 

Thanks but I am just gonna make it 2wd by taking out the transfer case and useing the 2wd driveshaft

 

if there they same trans's and the same trucks. The the trans's will interchange i've done it hundreds of times. I could do it in my sleep
