I just got out of my v6 camaro and into a T/A. After the basic bolt-ons what would be a good next step to take? Thanks for any help.

Make sure you do a decent catback intake lid then maybe some headers and a good Y-pipe maybe a cutout. That will get you around 330-340 rwhp and high 12s. If you want more than that thats were the real choices begin. If you like Nos the LS1 responds well. A friend of mine went 11.8 at 121 with the above mods and NOS kit 5177. If its an auto tranny a high stall converter is the best bet. With the above mods(exceptNOS) you will run 12.5-12.1 all motor with a good converter.
Another good choice is a cam and valvespring upgrade. MTI has the T1 cam. T1 with headers and bolt ons make anywhere from 360-380 rwhp. Add an LS6 intake and that will be 370-390 rwhp. Add some stage II heads to that and youll see 400-420 rwhp and run in the 11s all motor.
If you have cash...and lots of it....go to ARE or MTI and get the superstroker package. 427 CID LS1 with a solid lifter setup. 520+ hp to the wheels and run 10s all motor.
But like I said...it depends on where you want to end up.

Thanks for your help. I did the free ram air mod (found on LS1.com) this weekend as a temporary fix. Im thinking about possibly going to a 3.42 as well. What would you do first the cat-back or the intake lid?

changing that gear will help performance but not gas.....and maybe run some nitrous to it if you want to race it someimes but not everyday nitrous will only cost you about $500-$1000--depending on what all you want with the system i believe the ls1 is good for a 125 shot but id just run a 75 or 100 to be on the safe side especially if it is going to be a street car running on street tires....you wouldnt get traction anyway so it would be a waste to run a huge shot....like hybrid ss said its all how fast you wanna go.....

Thanks guys. I am considering n20 but Im worried about voiding my warranty if I have to take it in to get something fixed at the dealership. I guess for now Ill just do the basics then wait and see what I can afford down the road.

For you A4 guys I would go the same route as Joe99SS. He had headers intake lid exhaust cutout Y pipe and most importantly a good high stall converter. With those mods he ran 12.2 at 111 mph. Thats about $1200 to $1500 in mods depending on which headers and stall you get. Thats the route I would take.

Or you could just slap NoS kit 5177 on there and spray a 125 dry shot and run low 12s for $500
