Thats what Ive been hearing. I havent even had a chance to get a K&N in it yet. Btw where is a good local shop to pick one up? I couldnt find one last weekend. After that the intake lid will come next then exhaust. That should keep me busy. Any suggestions on a good exhaust that wouldnt be too loud. Im kind going for a sleeper look and sound. TIA again.

a K&N?.....dont bother....I dynoed mine with the cheap ass Fram the K&N and without a filter.....there was less than .3 hp difference between all those. Just get the lid. Lookup Whisper Motorsports. They are in Clearwater sorta by Blue Oval Corral. You can get one direct from him for maybe 129.00. Maybe less.
As for exhaust....dont get the Borla. Too expensive for what it is. On my 98 Z28 I had a Flowmaster put in place of the stock muffler and it did a good job. That would be cheap too. Maybe $140 for muffler and install. If you want a full catback SLP make a few nice systems for cheap.

Thanks once again for the help. That all sounds good to me. I had actually considered just using a Flowmaster in place of stock. Plus that is easier on my wallet.

NIce car man.
Like HybridSS said. Get the whisper lid. Get the catback exhaust. I bought borla for mine and love the sound and the tips. I did not want just round looking ones. There is really no performance difference between my exhaust and anyother. Mine is maybe an 1 or 2 hp more because im running it without a restrictor plate.
Make sure you have a damn good shop install your gears if u get them. If they dont do it right they will whine.
Throttle body bypass is a free mod and will give u a few more horses.
Get a different torque converter too (youll feel the gains from this more than the exhaust or intake mods). The guys on camaroz28.com and LS1.com can give you a whole shit load of ideas too.

Thanks for your input. Im slowly working my way through the list of free mods reading up on the different brands of stuff to work with. I should have the muffler and intake lid right after Christmas then Ill have to decide where to go from there that will not void the warranty. I figure by the time my warranty runs out Ill be able to get into the more expensive stuff. Thanks for the compliment and your advice.
