4 grand is not too bad if it includes the heads. any cheaper and you are prolly asking too much from a reliability standpoint.

I have this one forsale. All brand new parts, the heads alone are worth 2,000.

Yeah i would go with that motor, it's already built with good parts and seems like a good deal...
When I rebuilt my tl1 i did it with a stock crank, rods, pistons, Fully ported heads & intake, stock size lighter valves, comp cams 305 cam (.510/.510 lift) crane roller rockers, comp cams rods, and some other goodies, Didn't spend a ton of money, but it made good power, the guy i sold the car to dynoed it at over 345 to the rear wheels. so you can make good power with out having to stroke it,....for the price i'd go with the motor that the guy who posted above me is selling.....

it depends on the heads, if the heads are ported you'd want to at least port match a stock lt1 intake manifold. that sould be fine, and you could go with a bigger throttle body which you would have port for that also...

Maybe Golen's. I have heard good and bad. Look at this month's edition of GM High Tech Performance. Let me know how it works out as I too am looking to either rebuild or replace in the near future.

I'm getting one built at A&S in Riverview he almost done with it. I would go and talk to Gill at A&S in Riverview he has lots of parts people never came back to pick up that he will sell for cheap. He is a good guy and and will work around you budget and will never sell you something you don't need, he even takes payments.
