The crank pulleys are known for going bad and that causes the car to shake a little at idle. You can tell just by looking at the pulley when the engine is running, it will have a slight wobble to it.

the salesman just seemed so shady to me that he was trying to get rid of the car asap. he wouldnt answer direct questions and try to go around them. its a small time dealership. hes had the car on the lot for a few months too.

you can find nice clean 99 or 2000 FRC vettes from 17 to 20k, you just have to look for them.

+1^

just look around and you will find a sweet deal. I got my 2000 frc for 17k. It had high miles (84k) but was bone stock and dealer maintained every 3k miles since new by the original owner. You can find deals if you look around. If I get some spare time I'll look also and shoot you some links of cars.
