We're just trying to steer him away from the domestic rice and towards the real muscle. C'mon, you know damn well once you've got that 8 under the hood, there's no turning back.

This is true. I heart my 8 cylinder, loud, gas guzzling car but he likes the 6 More power to 'em.

I call it domestic rice because it's a non-performance vehicle that you're trying to get performance out of. Aside from a big block Chevy Vega, that normally doesn't happen. I don't think anybody here is trynig to be a dick, we're just trying to make you see the cons of modding that 3800. It's a lot of money spent on a weak motor in a fairly heavy car, so the payout is very little. Shit, trade that Impala in on a '96 with an LT1 at least.

Plus, I still can't agree with those Flowmaster 40's on the 3.8. I've got some Flows on the Torino, with a 351ci big block V8, and it still doesn't sound all that good.

well for one ive never heard a ford engine that sounded good to me and im not going to be making this car modded out to the point where it isnt streetable. the point of this project is to prove that this engine naturally asperated can make a 12 second run without any forced induction and be streetable. and believe me i already had (and still do have drawn up) plans to allow an LS1 and make the car RWD, but it would cost more than the conversion did with my buick. that car i just stole the rear end from a Grand National and used that.

oh yeah and one other thing, ive ran up against the 96' imp, one car length was in between us.
