even with a turbo you cant just run around making big numbers. You have to go somewhere and get soem high octane gas,

at 1.98 a lbs it isn even a comparison carl.
and do we want to talk about the head unit, custom fabing, a/a a/w intercoolers, BOV, wastegates, and INCREDIBLE fuel systems required in a turbo kit? BS3? FAST? etc etc

They both have their place, but Al seems to be making huge numbers with nitrous kits so he's starting to ruin the curve
Al runs alot of electronics in his kits which may become troublesome. With a turbo, there's no electronics, but you have mechanical pieces that may fail (piping, clamps, welds, etc) which may render the car undrivable. There are ups and downs to both and I can't fault anyone for choosing either.

You guys are mad men! Sick ass numbers gents. I love it when a project turns out better than expected. I am still waiting for my smackdown, you keep pilling up and I am not even going to be in sight anymore!

HEHE.. ill play devils advocate for a minute. Not trying to steal Dans thunder here
Did Dan have straight 93 in the fuel cell and tank?

you don't have to spend $4-5k to buy and install a n2o kit (unless we're
talking direct port, blah blah blah, 2 bottles the big ones, blah blah blah)

Im done now
REMEMBER PEOPLE THIS IS ALL IN FUN!
Dan ran 110 octane all the way around. So Dan has to get race gas at $5 a gallon + nitrous at $2 a lb. Most big HP turbo cars use C16 at $7-8 a gallon. Its all about even. Both types of combos require extra ttention and some preplanning to hit big HP #s.
You could do a nitrous kit similair to Dans for about $1800-2000 not including labor. You dont need a stand alone computer. For Dan to make these numbers with a turbo he would have spent in the $10k-15k range. Ultimately the turbo would make more power. But when you arent reaching for ALL possible HP and omly need 800-900 from a 408. This type of nitrous kit is a good option.
One little sidenote. The NX controller that Dan uses goes for $199 plus $99 for the noid driver. Thats a hell of a system for that price.

EDIT Als last statement, cuz Dan just ordered a second driver to progressively control the first stage. There's another $99.00 added to this system.
The point of the thread isn't to argue Turbo vs. N20 but to illuminate the hard work and one hell of a job done by the aforementioned party's. Rev Xtreme has put together a 1,000 hp car and Al's N20 genius has been put on display.

Yeah Carl...the old controllers were more pricey and did alot less. All this new NX/FJO stuff is fantastic and a better value.
I will be using the MAximizer II which has some neat features on it. But the controller Dan is using is a damn good bargain.
And Dan...edit your list...because you didnt have to pay for that controller
. It was a prototype. We got to test it for free and Dan got to keep it.
