Opinions on an LT1 upgrade..
Formula transam with an LT1 motor....Engine is perfect , and have been playing with the idea of Having RaceRelated Work a Turbo Kit in it some where.. Maybe a 60-1 or a T3... saw one in orlando , but it was an LS1 motor , kickn out close to 500rwhp....just lookin for some feed back on this thread , if ur gonna bust my balls for asking opinions on a simple idea , then dont waste my time...
thanks,.,,

...a 60-1??? wtf...that shit is little. and no, im not being sarcastic.
preferably, id run a Master Power T70, .96 A/R on the exhaust.
but with that, you'll need forged bottom end, heads will be a limiting factor so i suggest getting some stock castings ported out to be on a budget. get a decent sized cam (call FMS about a custom cam). 60lb fuel injectors, fuel pump, possibly running new fuel lines through the car. then slap a th400 in, denny's driveshaft, ford 9", slicks. also suggest upgrading to a Delteq system or the like. and at this point, stand alone engine management comes in to play, i like BS3 personally from what i've seen.
so be ready to drop a pretty penny, before you even buy the turbo kit and get it installed. do it right, or do it twice.

lol well thanks for the opinions , dont exactly have that kinda money to drop into it just yet.. as far as mods , i just recently gotthe car from my boss , who has been the origional owner since 94 when he bought it off the show room , hes got some msd components , custom exhaust , some head work im not too sure about just yet , looking into that , and hes got an aftermarket posi lock rear end..... he had it dynoed at 342rwhp.. im guessing its ligit , he showed me the sheets...... i didnt wanna go with such a boig turbo to where ide hafta upgrade my entire engine to support it , kinda why i was thinking of the turboneticsa 60-1 or the t3....
if that car really dyno's 342 he has more than msd, exhaust and headwork.. im guessing cam as well? either way, buying someone elses project and deciding to throw a turbo on it isnt such a great idea, i bet that cam isnt good for a turbo and neither are the heads.. chances are if you dont build up a turbo setup the correct way you are gonna find yourself with an extremely fucked up bottom end, and i love race related to death, but they arent going to guide you through the process of building a turbo lt1, they are ford guys... if that car really makes 342 hp to the wheels and you want to make more, buy a profesional heads/cam package or take it to a dyno tuner and see what else they can suck out of the existing package..
as for a turbo if your REALLY set on that and you want to do it the cheap way, look into the STS rear mount setup, its probably the cheapest, or if you have turbo experience fab up your own kit. a 60-1 turbo is good if you dont want to break the bank but still want to make in the upwards of 450-500 hp.. a holset HD2 will do nicely for a custom rear turbo setup, your gonna have a hard time doing it mounted in the engine bay unless you konw someone who can fab you up some exhaust manifolds.. after that all you need really is piping, wastegate, FMU, some oil lines, an oil pump and a bunch of check valves for safety.. have fun
