Opinions on an LT1 upgrade..
if you just want to be a dyno queen and are aiming for 450 or whatever, then get a blower. bolt-ons, and s-trim will do that for you. but like i said, it becomes a question of when..not if...the engine will let loose.
you can pick up a blower for <$2k sometimes if you look. but like i said, dyno queen. put the power you have now to the ground and use it. then add a lil more and make sure it all gets put to good use.

Yah im def not looking to make this car street illegal... i drove my friends chevelle a while back with ball park 500hp , and i was very satisfied with the feeling of not getting bored at all... so is ur point being that if i stay N/A and do bolt on upgrades and mods , to the same amount of horsepower , the reliability of my engine will be better then doing a turbo conversion?..... i dont wanna kill the dependability of my engine , im ure ill havr problems , as u do with every car u start working on... but i dont feel like ending up with a money pit.
as far as fabrication goes , i did some of my hard piping on my IC set up on my last turbo car , along with some of my own exhaust work.. i wouldnt say i could do it my self , but could def contribute with some one who knows more then myself...
well you need to know what your working with first, figure out what the compression is, if its making 342, it probably has milled heads to bump it up some. unless its a cammed car. but your not giving us much to work with....basically, my personal opinion, you dont have the money to do it right, so you dont need to do it. just put a 100shot on it or something, easy. your lookin at alot of money no matter what going to a power adder car...but its like your wanting a whole lot of something for near nothing.
if you want a fast car, dont worry about hp and numbers like that...if you want a dyno queen...do whatever you want.

+1 on the dyno queen statement. it figure out if you want to go fast or make lots of power.
i dont make lots of power.
i dont make lots of power.

when i said i didnt have alot of money to throw on the car , i was implying to the previous amounts of 12 grand for parts... dont have that , i can throw a few grand into this car not a problem... guy told me the heads are aftermarket , he is a dumbass and some one else did all his work and he barely knows whats been done to it as far as details... Im a bit iffy on using the bottle on any of my cars... if this engine capable of with standing a 100 shot with low grade mods...i dont plan on doing anything half assed ,w hich is why i started this thread , i had a supra before this car , im not as smart with domestics as i was imports...thanks for baring with me....
so give me a legitimate answer to why you are a bit iffy to using nitrous on your cars.

i have a hard time believing that car made 342 with a stock cam... maybe with head work but even thats a stretch.. my lt1 had shaved heads, about 12:1 compression, a pocket port and 4 angle valvejob and i only put down 313hp/340tq

hey im not disagreeing with anyoneon what they say , i didnt dyno it , this is him and his papers telling me this , once i get it insured and ect ect , imma go down to Racerelated and find out for my self... as far as using the bottle.... i dont know anything about zex kits or boost systems , and quite a few of my friends have fucked their engines with spray... so my legit answer would prolly be because i know absolutely nothing about it and have seen alot of blown motors in the past of people putting spray on who didnt know any more then i do now... legit enough?
