Default Water under rear carpet?

So me and the woman were driving back to Gainesville from Miami today and it rained like a motherfucker all the way up. Anyways we get back, and she goes to pick up one of her books that was sitting on the floor behind the passenger seat and half of the book is soaked. Upon closer inspection the carpet was soaked as well, as it appears a bunch of water pooled up on the rear floor board. Is there a drain/hole/etc down somewhere on the floorboard that could be plugged up, or does anyone have any ideas as to why water's getting pooled up under the carpet?

yea there is a plug under the carpet on each side of the rear passenger foot wells. Pull up the carpet and you will see it.

This happened to me a few years ago. YOu will want to check the fire wall for any grommets that have poped out. thats where my leak was. Have you ran power cable for an amp through the fire wall? start there first.

I had that problem in my '96 Camaro too. I guess it's pretty common. I never fixed it though, I just sold the car during the dry season.

thanks foe the input guys...yeh the vert top does leak a little, but nothing that would cause the water to build up like it was (unless there's some hidden leak somewhere other than around the windows)...first thing I'm gonna go is check out the firewall and rear plug..thanks corey
