ok, idle when turn on is good.

after about 5 minutes of running, it runs like crap. idle drops to about 500, really rough and seems almost unstable. drivability is small surge, lot of restriction when i hit the gas...almost like its fighting with me??

brand new opti, cam, crank, cooling system, plugs, wires, timing chain, belt, alt, battery.

someone told me that an O2 sensor can do that. first few minutes of the car running and it reads nothing (wide bank or something like that) then after a few minutes it reads and calculates what the sensor is telling the computer, then it controlls the idle that way??
95 LT1 is my car. O2 sensors are to the best of my knowlege to be original, and the car has a gutted cat. i have no SES lights popping on, and have had none since my engine rebilud.

feel free to ask me any drivabilty or other symptom questions and that will help me too.

my mustang did that.

new O2's solved the problem. it was wanting to fight me, surged like hell, and sounds identical to what you are going through

i have minor surge, then it stays fighting me. when i put it in gear, it gets even rougher as the idle speed goes down...but its not stalling out. fires right up. spark plug wires are tight too. its also a brand new coil, i forgot about that.
