Sounds kinda like Matt Scranton's Supra. He dynoed it at 1100 something whp at the Supra dyno day last fall off the bottle, but he had some sizable shot of nitrous he could run on top of that, 150, 200, 300 I don't remember. The thing was, if he actually sprayed it there was a good chance it would crack the block. Sounds like a last-resort tactic to me for those races you absolutely refuse to lose.

I know my brother's 97' z28 goes to right around 160 with the 2.73's, never watched it when it hit the speed limiter.

havent seen a cracked block yet, and i know he has put down well over 1300. i actually have a delivery for them in a couple days now that i think about it.

and now that i think about it, im running 42# injectors, and im maxing them out. you might want to also consider a bigger injector. i think 60# is the highest hi impedence injector you can get.

I install the kits every day, 42 will be more than enough for my LT1.
I only use 60 in the LS1 600+ cars. I have a 255 walbro pump.

I don,t mind to lose a race, theres all ways some one faster.
But, there are those loud mouth guys out there that you know
you can,t lose to or you will never hear the end of it.

The 50shot works great w/ the setup. It gives about 100hp on the
dyno. Im shure Ill be building a motor soon.
But still theres a lot of are cars running around on stock bottom ends
that make over 500hp.
The bumper is a temp. till my custom bumper is done.
The speedo in my car only goes to 115. Ive only seen 2 other cars w/
it, every one else has the 150. On the 150 cars the speed limter is
147 unless you have had some sort of edit program done.
Here is a pic of the guys car who is making my bumper.

i advocate making good power on a stock block, but even on an LT1, i think 500+ is really pushing the limits.

my recommendation of the 60's was for upgrading purposes, an MP T70 can make well over 750rwhp on a stock headed mild cam 355. 42's wont support that even with an afpr.

Sweet setup, how many miles on that longblock?

I know that the 105 limiter and 115 speedo came on Z28's and T/A's without the Z rated tires from the factory.

I think a good condition, stock shortblock will handle 500+ as well as an LS1 will. You just need to upgrade the heads and valvetrain with that in mind. And yes, I am talking 500+ at the wheels.

It helps if your motor and transmission was built on a Wednesday, is a 4 bolt, and maybe a little holy water sprinkled in the right places too.
