MY LT1 will run circles around all but a few LS1 motors. for the people that do not know what they are doing or rely on others to do their work for them they might seem to be a pita but they are not. i know plenty of ls1 motors that have regular issues. as far as the 5.0s and the other windsor motors go '351's' they are damn hard to beat and don't forget the ls1 heads are actually a copy of sbf heads.

 

hate to tell you man but they are not that problematic there are just a lot of them out there so hearing stories of blown head gaskets is going to be more common because of the sheer number of 5.0's in circulation. but even with that said i do not know of many 5.o motors that blow gaskets on a regular basis even boosted ones.

i have no idea what you run but i have a stock cam and i bet you dont so i dont think it would be a fair race, im always up for a fun run though regardless of the outcome

my heads have never been off the car. stock untouched head/intake. mild cam. 3500 lbs. 11.59 is my best time in awesome weather. consistent 11.71-11.73 car. i dont hide anything about my car.

 

ill run ya when i get my cam in, itll be a little more even

 

good by then i will have my heads and it will be more even with your head work.
