Default Break in..

I was wondering about your opinions about breaking in a motor. By a motor I mean, everything brand new: pistons, rods, bearings. Etc..

I've been told, as soon as you fire it up / to wait 500 miles..

I was thinking maybe 100miles? If so. Fill me in. Ty.

Some will say anywhere from 0-3000 miles. Everything is pretty much seated in the first 50. Just wait the normal 500 with no steady RPMs and itll be all good.

God, that's so fucking long. Will the motor be able to handle the abuse if I baby it for 500 miles than start beating the hell out of it?

A motor is never as tight as it's going to be after a rebuild, so that's the best time to beat on it. I'd give it a good 500 mile break in though if you plan on keeping the motor for a while
