Guys,

Scott is referring to the Ford GT supercar, not the Mustang GT. I think this will still spank the GT though since the GT has basically a Cobra motor with the boost turned. up and this new motor will have a lot left in it.

Sorry guys,it would be a bad motor in a factory car,but the GT stock was putting down well over 600 to the wheels. On only 10psi!!!With a bullit bottom end could you imagine if it was pullied and sprayed!!!Oh,and the GT is a 5.4=330ci.....

What brand of crack are you smoking?

So you are saying the 7.0 Ls2 motor will not put down 500/500 when the 6.0 Ls2 is already putting down 400/400? I got to say that is a pretty dumb statement.

I dont know what the target market for the new Z06 will be like....but if its like the past. It will be much more affordable and accessable than something like the GT. Not on the same scale and not $120 or whatever a GT cost. If the GT is putting down 600 to the wheels stock...this next Z06 will not match that.

But thats not why I posted this at all. I like this little bit of info because us GM hotrodders will have another 1500 hp capable factory block available to us that can get up to 454 ci. I am happy about that. The 4.125 bore make all the difference in the world for building serious engine combos.

If you building a 360 or under ci race motor due to class restrictions...now you can use a big bore short stroke setup. Or just go all out for 450+ ci. And no resleeving involved.

It also appears there will be a factory crank avalable too. The more parts availabe from the factory to mix and match the better off us LS1 guys are.

With Fords 4 v head being such a good design...it really sucks Ford hasnt provided you guys with cheap alternatives for more cubic inches. I have seen a handful of 5.4 setups that run good. I couldnt imagine those heads on a 427.
