Spark Plugs
A buddy of mine has a 98 Z(ls1) and was wondering what plugs wires to run on the car. Mods consist of NONE being the fact that its completely stock. What would be the best wires to run on this car to spark ti up a little bit?? Any info would be great

MSD wires ohm out the best of any LS1 wire offered. They are also the cheapest....so MSD is a good choice.
However...he will see NO gains from a plug wire change unless one of the stock wires is damaged.

Doesn't matter how big the wires are unless the ignition system is upgraded..the factory coils push the same spark if you have 8mm or 10mm wires

Hes got plans for doing something with it. His previous car was a mildly modified LT1. I think he mentioned something about the LS6 mani being first.

you dont really need 10mm wires... go with MSD 8.5mm.. and with the LS1, changing the ignition means changing all 8 coil packs which is like 200 bucks a pop for aftermarket ones...not worth the cash....just make sure the spark plugs are gapped right and make sure they are long enough..
