Good advice...the LS1 ignition is good for well over 1000 hp. Upgrade the wires if he wants to...but again...its unlikely he will see any real gains.
The LS6 manifold you mentioned is a good mod. Worth atleast 8-10 rwhp. Headers and exhaust after that.
