Note to self:

Learn from the mistakes of others, change timing set when the cam gets installed.

Have you pulled the heads off of it yet? Is it going to be a simple machine shop pluck and chuck on the valves or are the tops of the pistons dinged up enough to warrant a rebuild?

Heads are off, it appears as if the damage is minimal just put some new Valves in. But it will still take awhile i'm sure TEA is backed up, plus I think I might have the heads finshed off to stage 3 with bigger valves also.

Looks like someone should replace that timing chain with a timing gear this time. I know I won't be sticking any chains whatsoever in the blown 327 when I (finally) rebuild it.

It would be nice if we could. The knock sensors in the Ls1 would wig out with the noise and vibration from a gear drive.
