Well, if he had any kind of cam the sound would be significantly more aggressive than stock note of any sb chevy.

Personally, I would say the car is stock, but if there's one thing you could look for it would be headers. Stock l98's had exhaust manifolds, but since you said it sounded stock and like crap, there's a good chance this guy's car is completely stock and he is full of shit.

And, did he say "cams" was one of his mods? Corey made a reference to it above, but every chevy engine ever made with a few exception has 1 cam.

 

i think he said cams but he said intake headers cams and injectors... but the "rumor" the he started was that it is swapped and that is the only thing im scared of. I heard his car i saw it driving im not scared of it if it is a stock l98. But if its a swap i may have to worry about somthing... this kid knows absolutely nothing about his car or any car for that matter. I honestly think hes talking through his ass

 

yeah, when he started his car, he gave it a little rev.. it sounded like nothing. i dont know if just headers would make it sound more agressive, let alone add much power, with the rest of the exhaust system being stock.

and about the cams thing, i said cams because obviously i dont know much about these cars (but im learning ) but as far as what he said, theres a good chance he said cams because he is an idiot.

this kid knows nothing. my bro has a 76 stingray so i know a tiny tiny bit about corvettes, but i do know some about SBchevy and that bitch is full of shit. im comming down there with yall, ill get him to rev his engine, my brothers is a stock 350 so i can compare kindof, even though 76 was a weak 350 year.

 

Headers replace the exhaust manifolds. The radiator doesn't do anything except maybe making the car lighter by a little. I don't know an awful lot about cam swaps but I'm of the impression that a cam alone will not add much horsepower without a good set of heads to match. The SBC 350 was Chevy's powerhouse for like 50 years, and has a lot of potential, however this kid seems like someone that would have no idea how to tap it.

 

yeah my brother's 76 is slow as shit only runs estimated about high 14's/low 15'she weakest of the 350's......

cam sohuldnt do anytihng significant. thats that he wont pop the hood....then again an 18 second civic had me pop mine and he wouldnt pop his and we raced for money and i walked him so bad.
