Jomar gave me a call when he got home. Good job Shalane and nice times. Al, better luck next time. Mark the tires and have a go at a few launches to see what they are doing. The way Jomar made it sound and the difference in 60's from the ET Streets leads me to believe they might be spinning too.
Yeah....that was the worst track outing ever. There was a ton of Terdbo Buicks and other cars there. The lanes shut down every fifteen minutes for people blowing up and hoods blowing off
. I basically ran once......didn have any time to make changes...and had to get back inline right away just to make another for a total of two runs
.
It did not sixty foot any where near what i need. Kept spinning the tires.
We will have to sort it all out...too many new things on the car right now to blame any one thing. And we werent able to change anything at the track to check for progress. So today was a total wash.
We did get video so we were able to look at that and get some idea of where to start. Namely...in HOW I let the clutch out and at what RPM.
ON the old clutch/setup it was engaging softly since it was almost wore out. And I think thats what the biggest difference is so far. The new clutch connects with a bang....and its just blowing the tires off immediately.
That and I think Ill need to do a much Longer burnout..In my rush to get passes done quickly..I dont think I had nearly enough heat in the tires. Especially with a slower tire speed during the first gear burnout with the new 4.11 gears. May try a second gear burnout next time.
Anyways...It was atleast driven to the track...ran low 10s..and driven home....again.

Definately go with the 2nd gear burnout ... what's the first gear ratio on a t56 anyway?
Hell, I do a 2nd gear burnout with 3.73s ... those tires couldn't be spinning more than 30mph for you.

Actually....the T56 first gear is tall. Its probably about 45 mph at 6000 rpm. However...Im sure the burnout needed to be longer if I stayed in first gear...or...try a second gear next time.
Spent a lil while today making a few small changes with the Tq arm...and we will try a few things next outing at the track...hopefully we will have the time to make changes between runs.
Watched the video we took of the car..basically looked like it was lifting up too fast...which in turn always unloads the rear faster. We need to make the front raise over a longer period of time.

why not do a burnout in 2nd gear? that is what i did when i had 4.56 gears with a mn6 car. keeps the rpms low yet tire speed nice and high.
